the philippines

island life, properly remote

The Philippines is made for island hopping. Palawan is the highlight, with the limestone lagoons of El Nido, the wrecks of Coron and private island resorts where you may not see another boat all day.

Elsewhere, Siargao is laid-back and known for surfing, Bohol has its Chocolate Hills and tiny tarsiers, and the reefs offer superb diving and snorkelling.

It’s one of the best places in Asia for a barefoot island escape, and pairs well with a few days in Singapore or Hong Kong.
