zambia

the home of the walking safari

The walking safari was born in Zambia’s South Luangwa, and it’s still one of the best places to explore on foot. Guides here are some of the most experienced in Africa, and the camps are small and owner-run.

The Lower Zambezi offers canoe safaris past elephants and hippos, the Kafue is huge and little visited, and Liuwa Plain has Africa’s second-largest wildebeest migration in November.

In the south, Livingstone gives you the Zambian side of Victoria Falls, including Devil’s Pool on the edge of the falls when the water is low.
